On the grand tour races of cycling, there is a blood test to make sure there is no doping. It seems appropriate that I also submit to a blood test. I failed the first hemocrit test. It was too low. A second test showed a hemocrit level at 14.7, which is in the normal range.
Last year I added a new tradition to my Pan Mass Challenge: donating blood. This year it was a couple units of platelets instead of whole blood. They are a key need for cancer patients.
