I had to be in the office Monday and had a bunch of evening obligations. That meant there was not much time to squeeze in a bike ride for the Tour de PMC. After the back-to-back centuries on the weekend and anticipating the big ride tomorrow, a short ride would be okay.
But I had to make it count. I decided on two laps of the Dover Time Trial course. Just me against the clock. Who would win?
Fantastic. I rode for a personal record on one of the two laps of the segment.
Okay, okay. Not such a big deal. I actually had never ridden the Dover time trial segment as a route before. So of course one of those two laps was going to be a personal record and the other would be my second best.
The better comparison would be against my peers, the people I follow on Strava. Last place. Man against the clock and the clock won.
