Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hill Climb

This one has been on my list for a few years. A brutal climb of 7.5 miles with an average grade of 12%. I don’t have the build of a climber. https://www.mwarbh.org/

Thanks to Steve the Bike Guy for setting up my bike with some special gearing. He got a 20T ring on the front for me.

It’s a short ride from the start line on a flat road. After 100 yards you reach the start of the hill. You can see it in the background behind the picture of the bike above. Then you just keep climbing, non-stop, to the summit. Some 5% sections feel flat. They’re not. If you try to coast, you come to a stop.

An hour plus of pedaling for strong climbers. Two hours for me.
